An unusual pair of olive press turning columns

From an old olive press, these are (we think) made from solid cherry wood.  They could be made into lamp bases or as a table support amongst other things.  Probably mid 19th century.  As you can see, one is slightly shorter than the other.  Dimensions are shown in the photographs.
